What is High Tech Nomads? To put it simply, High Tech Nomads is a website to document the build of our tiny home on the back of our truck, its also a place where I can share info, how to’s and reviews on gear and technology that I use personally or that I know to be useful. Finally its a place where you can read stories from people living alternative lifestyles. I believe that in this wondrous age in which we live, with the technology that is now so readily available to us, we can create a more fulfilling, simple and sustainable existence enhanced by technology. If you’ve just stumbled upon us, welcome. Take a look around, you might even find some inspiration for a project of your own.

About myself, I’m Dan. I grew up in rural Victoria on a small farm, I left school at the ripe old age of 17 and began an apprenticeship to become a fitter and turner, I worked with hydraulics and pneumatics in and around Melbourne for some years but I eventually became tired of being a grease monkey, so I traded the overalls for some khaki and moved to coastal Victoria to complete a carpentry apprenticeship. Yes, I was an apprentice for eight years…. I then travelled and worked extensively around Australia during which time my passion for photography grew. Now I’m back where it all started at my Mothers farm working to build an off the grid, fully automated, smart truck house.

Feel free to contact me with any questions, feedback or just to say G’day!
